Once in a while you come across a book that is truly unique, answering questions that have always been on your mind.
I found Joyful Momentum by Elizabeth A. Tomlin to be just such a work.
Tomlin writes about establishing, sustaining, and growing women's ministry groups. As a veteran of Bible studies, a faith-fueled book club, and the worldwide Cursillo movement, I found the book fascinating.
The author offers insights on a broad range of topics affecting women's outreach--everything from hospitality to mentorship. I was especially pleased to read the section on resolving conflict with mercy. Isn't that just what the world needs right now?
Tomlin, indeed, says it best:
"We pray that reconciliation and a spirit of cooperation will mold our communities so that we can continue to build the Church with joy."
